The Government set an aspiration in the Clean Growth Strategy for as many homes as possible to reach at least EPC Band C by 2035, where cost-effective, affordable, and practical.

The UK has made good progress in improving the energy performance of homes. Over 40% of homes in England now have an EPC of C or better, up from 12% in 2009. The Government has committed to spend £3.8 billion in this Parliament to improve the energy performance of homes, including through insulation.
