The developing outputs for Defence require a coherent, rationalised and efficient Land Fleet, founded on the principle of a flexible and responsive Armed Forces, fit for the 2030s and beyond. This will be delivered under a framework centred around a smaller number of core base platforms that are characterised by extensive commonality, adaptability and interoperability.

By 2035, the Army aims to rationalise the current 35 core land military platforms down to 15 platform families that are modular, connected, and adaptable, with redundant equipment sold or disposed.
