Question to the Department for International Trade:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, what estimate he has made of the length of time it will take to conclude trade negotiations with other countries after the UK leaves the EU.

We are talking to a broad range of countries about future trading relationships. Through these discussions, we will aim to put in place various mechanisms, to improve trading relations and remove barriers affecting UK businesses. However, the length of time to complete a specific trade agreement negotiation can vary significantly, therefore, at this stage, we cannot say specifically when agreements could be reached.
