Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to her Department's publication entitled Building Safety Remediation: monthly data release - August 2024, published on 19 September 2024, what steps her Department is taking to ensure that developer self-declarations under clause 5.4(i) or 5.4(ii) of the developer remediation contract are (a) reviewed (b) audited by the Department.

Where appropriate, a developer may declare that there is no information or other reasons to believe that a building requires works. Information provided by the developer is considered by the Ministry, which may in turn discuss with the developer any concerns it may have about the declaration.
