Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what steps his Department is taking to help ensure local authorities have the (a) finances and (b) infrastructure to support high-quality bus services.

At the Budget we announced £1.2 billion of new dedicated funding for bus transformation deals, which will support both infrastructure and service improvements, and £525m to deliver zero emission buses. Over £500m from the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements will directly fund bus infrastructure. We will announce details of how that funding will be allocated in due course.
