Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to the Answer of 19 September 2017 to Question 8044, how many and what proportion of firms have a Cyber Essentials qualification; and whether that qualification is a requirement for delivering work procured by his Department.

Suppliers must either have current Cyber Essentials certificate, or be compliant with the Cyber Essentials controls, if bidding for contracts let by our Department which involve the handling of sensitive and personal information and provision of certain technical products and services. Information on the number and proportion of firms that have a Cyber Essentials qualification could only be provided at disproportionate cost
