The Home Office publishes a range of figures on the number of people applying for asylum and asylum support in both the quarterly migration statistics and quarterly transparency data full details of which can be found at:

https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/immigration-statistics-april-to-june-2017

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asylum-transparency-data-august-2017

This data shows that in Q2 2017 the Home Office received 6172 applications for asylum and separately 3784 applications for Section 95 support were received. Asylum seekers can apply for a support at any point prior to final determination of their application for asylum and therefore details on the proportion of asylum seekers who do not apply for any form of support could only be provided at disproportionate cost by examination of individual case records.
