Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will provide a breakdown of the number of dental training places at universities and medical colleges taken by (a) British nationals and (b) overseas students for each year since 2015.

A table showing data from the Office for Students on the number of entrants, target intakes to dental training courses by institution and by fee type in each year from 2015/16 is attached. This shows 'home' fee status for United Kingdom domiciles and 'other' fee status for overseas students. Therefore, fee type is not an exact measure of the nationality of a student but is a close proxy.
