To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if he will publish statistics for (a) first- and (b) second-time refusals and successful tribunal appeals for (i) employment and support allowance and (ii) personal independence payment claims.

Information in relation to Mandatory Reconsiderations - “second-time refusals” - is not available. The Department has plans to look into what it might be possible to publish on Mandatory Reconsiderations in the existing regular statistical publications, including information on outcomes. As each publication is ready, DWP statisticians will pre-announce any changes in accordance with the UKSA release protocols.
