Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many children were registered for a place at a maintained nursery school in (a) 2017 and (b) each of the previous five years.

Table 2a of “Schools, Pupils and Their Characteristics January 2017” sets out the number of children registered at maintained nursery schools in each year from 2003 to 2017.
