Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many HM Revenue and Customs staff currently work in UK customs.
This question was answered on 11th October 2017
There are currently approximately 5,000 staff who work on customs matters across government. This figure does not include the totality of Border Force staff, who undertake a number of other functions in addition to customs work.
