Universal Credit: Work Capability Assessment

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if he will make an estimate of the number of Universal Credit work capability assessment interviews which were to take place (a) by telephone and (b) in person were cancelled in (i) the City of York Council area (ii) Yorkshire and the Humber and (iii) England in each of the last three years.

The information is not held to answer parts (i) and (ii) as we are unable to break data down to constituency or regional level.

The table below shows the number of (a) telephone and (b) face-to-face Universal Credit (UC) Work Capability Assessments (WCA), cancelled by the provider or claimant, in England, from June 2020 onwards. We are unable to provide data for the full 3 years requested, as this data was not captured prior to June 2020.
