Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate his Department has made of the cost to the public purse of respiratory-related illnesses exacerbated by cold homes in the last five years.

The Department has not made an estimate of this kind.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has issued guidance which covers reducing the health risks (including preventable deaths) associated with living in a cold home.
