Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what steps his Department is taking to improve Scotland's black start capability; and if he will make a statement.

National Grid, under its Transmission License, is responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient level of Black Start capability for Great Britain. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is working with National Grid, Ofgem and Electricity Network operators to ensure that the Black Start strategy remains resilient and cost effective.
