Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many companies have been required to publish a modern slavery and human trafficking statement in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 in (a) 2016 and (b) 2017; and whether the identities of those companies are known to (i) her or (ii) her Department.

The Home Office estimates that between 9,000 – 11,000 businesses are required to publish a slavery and human trafficking statement. The Government does not hold a definitive list of eligible organisations.
