If a safety issue is identified with a product already on the market, the relevant market surveillance authority will ensure that product safety is enforced working with manufacturers to take action which may include a recall, where appropriate.

We understand a number of sector-specific bodies have responded to the news about Kobe Steel’s activities to understand potential impacts across their sectors. This includes the Vehicle Certification Agency working with the manufacturers that hold VCA approvals and the British Constructional Steel Association working across the UK’s construction sector.
