The National Transfer Scheme has been working well since its launch in July 2016 and has transferred a significant number of unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) away from local authorities with large numbers of UASC in their care.

We are currently reviewing the protocol with input from local government partners and plan to publish an updated version shortly.
