Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what recent discussions her Department had with the Chinese Government on increasing tourism from China to the UK.

During her visit to China last year, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport had very constructive discussions with her Chinese counterparts about cooperation to boost tourism between the UK and China. We look forward to continuing those discussions during the forthcoming UK-China High Level People to People Dialogue. The Government wants to increase Chinese visitors to all parts of the UK, and we would encourage businesses across the tourism and hospitality sector to sign up to VisitBritain’s GREAT China Welcome Charter.
