Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, when he plans for the provisions of the Housing and Planning Act 2016 relating to client money protection to come into force.

The Government is committed to making membership of a Client Money Protection scheme mandatory for letting and managing agents to ensure that tenants and landlords get the financial protection they want and deserve. A consultation seeking views on the detail of implementation was launched on 1 November ahead of bringing legislation forward.
