Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what assessment she has made of the implications for stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina of members of the Peace Implementation Council not reaching consensus on the High Representative; and what steps the UK is taking with international partners in response.
The UK is committed to upholding the peace, stability and constitutional order in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), in line with the Dayton Peace Agreement. We support maintaining the role of a fully empowered High Representative to uphold this. With our partners in the Peace Implementation Council, the UK is focused on rapidly identifying and appointing a suitable successor and maintaining engagement on BiH stability. In parallel, we continue to engage with political leaders in BiH and neighbouring countries to encourage constructive engagement and deter destabilising actors
