Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate his Department has made of the potential effect of the relocation of some aviation operations from the UK to other countries on the economy when the UK leaves the EU.
The Government is considering carefully all the potential implications arising from the UK’s exit from the EU, and plans to negotiate the best possible relationship between the UK and EU in the field of aviation. This includes the implications for continued participation in the European Aviation Safety Agency system, and the services it currently delivers.
The Government will continue to work closely with the aviation sector to secure a deal that ensures its continued success in the UK and globally.
