Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what proportion of the uplift in funding for armed officers has been provided (a) centrally and (b) by police forces.
The Home Office is providing the entirety of the £144m armed uplift funding over five years to increase the number of armed officers by around 1,000. In addition, a number of forces are currently delivering self-funded uplifts of their own, which will result in a further 500 who are locally funded.
