The Government recognises that tackling domestic abuse and supporting victims requires a robust cross-government approach. Departments are contributing to the development of both the Domestic Abuse Bill and accompanying non-legislative package through rigorous cross-Departmental discussions overseen by the Violence Against Women and Girls Inter-Ministerial Group, chaired by the Home Secretary.
