Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how the amount allocated to the Welsh Assembly under the apprenticeship levy is calculated.
The UK government provides the Welsh Government with a population share of the Office for Budget Responsibility’s (OBR’s) apprenticeship levy forecast from March 2016. This means the Welsh Government will receive £128m in 2017-18, £133m in 2018-19, and £138m in 2019-20. Beyond 2019-20, once the levy is embedded, the normal operation of the Barnett Formula will continue to provide a population-based share of funding.
