Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, with reference to the Answer of 30 March 2017 to Question 69316, on universal credit, what plans he has to ensure that the children of people who are not incentivised to work by universal credit do not live in poverty.

Universal Credit incentivises work for everybody. Work is the best route out of poverty, and Universal Credit supports parents to move into and progress in work, and raises the income of families.
