Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, when was the oldest outstanding claim for asylum submitted.

The Home Office cannot provide an answer on what date the oldest current outstanding asylum application was submitted to the Department because the Home Office does not publish this data as this is internal management information which is not verified to the standard for publication.

However, the Home Office does publish information which shows the number of cases in the entire asylum system, including some information of case age. This data can be found in ASY_03 of the published Transparency data:
