In Universal Credit, information is shared with Local Authorities at the start of a new claim, whenever there is a relevant change of circumstance and throughout the life of a claim for the purposes of local council tax reduction. Data sharing to support claims to Local Council Tax Reduction schemes is on-going whilst there is an existing claim in the local authority.
