Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what estimate he has made of the cost to the public purse of additional staff to be recruited to HM Revenue and Customs for new customs arrangements after the UK leaves the EU.

Changes to staffing levels within HM Revenue and Customs will be dependent on the outcome of EU exit negotiations. HM Revenue and Customs are working with HM Treasury to understand all costs associated with the options for the UK’s future customs arrangements after the UK has exited the EU.
