The Home Office does not hold information about the cost or availability of ammunition for .50 calibre rifles in the UK beyond that which is advertised commercially. The ammunition is subject to control under section 1 of the Firearms Act 1968 and a person wishing to purchase or to home load their own ammunition must hold a valid firearm certificate issued by the police.
