Tackling modern slavery is a domestic and foreign policy priority for the UK Government, with personal commitment from the Prime Minister. All sovereign posts have been instructed to make a contribution to this goal. The UK encouraged the Government of Laos to attend the IV Global Conference on Child Labour on 14-16 November in Argentina, at which we co-hosted a side event, and are seeking their endorsement of the UK’s Call to Action to End Forced Labour, Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery. The Call to Action includes a set of principles and outline actions to take forward at national and international level.
