Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what criteria the Care Quality Commission uses to assess the quality of patient transport.
As the independent regulator of health and social care providers in England, the Care Quality Commission uses a core service framework to assess ambulance trusts’ patient transport services. The patient transport services core service framework will consider as part of the Key Lines of Enquiry the patient transport control room, dispatch operation, any assessment of a patient’s eligibility for the service and any volunteer driver scheme managed by the trust.
