The Personal Social Services Research Unit at the University of Kent estimates within their report ‘Unit Costs of Health and Social Care 2016’, published December 2016, that the average cost in 2015/16 of training a general practitioner is £387,995. This figure is the total cost of training including costs to the public purse and the individual.
