Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what assessment her Department has made of the potential merits of including food provisions in the Government's recently announced wraparound childcare policy for children eligible for free school meals during (a) term time and (b) non-term time childcare.

When a school receives requests from parents for wraparound and/or holiday childcare, it will be for the school to decide what sort of service they can offer and whether the offer will include provision of food. Similarly, it will be for childcare providers to decide whether or not they include the provision of food when they request use of a school’s facilities.
