Treasury: Electronic Purchasing Card Solution

Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether it is his Department's policy that government procurement cards should not be used for purchases (a) of alcohol and (b) that could be made via an alternative compliant purchasing route.

HM Treasury’s expenses policy does not allow for the purchase of alcoholic drinks, including via government procurement cards (GPC), unless in support of hospitality for official business.
