It is critical that the experience of vulnerable and marginalised groups is included in assessments of progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 5. DFID is supporting our UN partners to assess global progress on the SDGs accurately, by strengthening our data on vulnerable and marginalised groups. Our Data Disaggregation Action Plan, launched in early 2017, outlines our approach to ensuring we leave no one behind in our policy and programmes. This will strengthen our understanding of who, where and why people are at risk of being left behind. It will enable us to empower vulnerable and marginalised groups, and help to ensure they are included in assessments of progress and need, and in development policy and programming.
