Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what matters concerning quality have been referred to the Forensic Services Regulator involving (a) Randox Testing Services and (b) Trimega.

Although sponsored by the Home Office, the regulator is a public appointee and operates independently, on behalf of the criminal justice system as a whole. This independence allows the regulator to make unbiased recommendations and decisions. Accreditation to the regulator’s codes of practice and conduct is undertaken, at the request of organisations, by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, which is also independent of Government.
