As the Chancellor set out in the Autumn Budget, the Homes and Community Agency will expand to become Homes England, bringing together money, expertise, and planning and compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability. As part of its remit, Homes England will work closely with combined authorities on their Housing Deals and will play an important role in supporting the Infrastructure Plan, Industrial Strategy and Local Growth Strategies.
