Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many (a) men and (b) women have taken their own lives in each of the last three years.

Data on the number of men and women who have died by suicide in each of the last three years is not available in the format requested.
The official source of data on suicide statistics in England and Wales is produced annually by the Office for National Statistics. Statistics on suicide are based on the year of death registration, because of registration delays, some deaths recorded in the statistics will have occurred in the previous year.
