Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will make available a hotline for cancer care and diagnosis through the NHS.
One strand of the £20 million Elective Recovery Funding is being used to enable Cancer Alliances to develop a more robust evidence base on the effectiveness of a secondary care telephone triage model for people with potential cancer symptoms. These new approaches have the potential to ease the pressure on primary care and help ensure people get into the system and onto a cancer diagnosis pathway more quickly.
