Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with the Government of (a) Bangladesh and (b) Myanmar to encourage those states to sign the 1954 Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons.

The UK has not had recent specific discussions with the Government of Bangladesh or Government of Burma on the 1954 Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons. The UK supports the Convention and has been a signatory since 1954.
