Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment her Department has made of (a) evidence and (b) recommendations regarding Drug Consumptions Rooms reported by the (i) Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs and (ii) Volteface report, entitled Back Yard.

The Government has no plans to introduce drug consumption rooms. A range of offences are likely to be committed in the operation of drug consumption rooms. It is for local police forces to enforce the law in such circumstances and, as with other offences of this type, we would expect them to do so.
