The UK is concerned by the attempted coup d'etat on 1 February in Guinea-Bissau and I am glad to see that calm has been restored.

Please refer to my answer given on 31 January to question 111656 that addresses our support to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union in their mediation efforts. The UK is watching regional developments closely and remains committed to supporting democratic institutions in West Africa.
