Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate his Department has made of the cost to the public purse of the pilot scheme for the 26-30 rail card.

The 26-30 railcard is being trialed by the rail industry on a commercial basis. While we will work with the industry to understand the findings and to learn from the trial, the findings of the trial will therefore be commercially sensitive. Given the commercial nature of this particular industry-led trial, it is not anticipated that there will be any cost to the public purse arising from the trial.
