Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of hypothecating taxes raised from a sugar tax for the purposes of improving healthcare outcomes in childhood.

The government is not currently minded to implement a general sugar tax and therefore has not made an assessment of the hypothecation of the revenue from such a tax.
