Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, for what reason covid-19 restrictions have been eased in the context of high infection rates of covid-19.

The vaccination and booster programme has succeeded in reducing the risk of severe infection and hospitalisations, easing pressure on the National Health Service. Hospital admissions have stabilised and the number of people in intensive care units with COVID-19 continues to fall.
