Individual trust level data on the number of nurse degree apprentices training in York is collected by the Department for Education. The Government has provided £172 million of additional funding to employers to support growth in nurse apprenticeships as part of its commitment to deliver 50,000 more nurses.

The number of Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeships (RNDAs) has been increasing nationally. In the 2019/20 academic year there were 938 RNDA starts, compared to 2,243 in 2020/21 and 3,416 in 2021/22.
