Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, which fruitless payments in excess of £30,000 his Department has made by (a) recipient of each such payment, (b) purpose of each such payment, (c) value of each such payment and (d) reason that payment was classified as fruitless in the 2017-18 financial year to date.

The figures requested form part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's annual report submitted to Parliament. To date there have been no fruitless payments for expenditure in the current unaudited 2017-18 financial year.
