Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether his Department provides guidance that sets out the circumstances under which a Secretary of State can instruct an independent regulator to reconsider a decision it has already taken.

The Cabinet Office does not publish such guidance. Secretaries of State must act in accordance with the terms set out in the relevant legislation for each individual regulator.
