Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, whether he made any private assurances to the Chair of the Local Government Association on action and funding from the Government to ensure fire safety in the wake of the fire at Grenfell Tower; and if he will make a statement.

My Department has held a number of meetings following the Grenfell Tower fire. Where work is necessary to ensure the fire safety of social housing, we will ensure that lack of financial resources will not prevent it going ahead.
