Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what steps he is taking to promote bike-share schemes in towns and cities.

The Government agrees that bike-share schemes have the potential to deliver various benefits, provided they are introduced and managed responsibly. This is already a very vibrant sector, however, and it would not be appropriate for the Government to promote individual schemes.
